The ultra-retro Ocean View Motel in Coolangatta was the setting of the first location of our recent Summer photoshoot. The laid back, beachy, bohemian style of Arnhem Clothing shines through in the new summer range, and the southern end of the Gold Coast provided the perfect feel to complement this vibe. The pink 1960′s motel is a photographers dream, and our amazing model Charlee effortlessly rocked Arnhem’s amazing new pieces.

great. britain
It’s only fitting that Britain’s biggest style icon be so prominent in Vogue UK December’s “Made in Britain” editorial. Shot by Tim Walker, this shoot captures a variety of classic British styles, with tough, hearty woollens to combat the elements on the moors, pretty Victorian inspired cotton and lace, and of course, a touch of Vivienne Westwood. I love the rustic, vintage feel, and of course Kate looks as amazing as ever.

I’ve always been fascinated by the wild west and the allure of a wild and unpredictable road trip through the heart of America’s raw and barren south of the border…. I love this sexy style of the Bandida, the bold woman with a pistol who takes what she wants then rides on horseback into blazing horizon. Is there truly anything hotter than a cowboy hat and a gun?

down. time
I’ve always been one to feel the most comfortable in as little or as basic as possible. The lifetsyle that allows you to walk around barefoot and lounge around in your favourite denim cutoffs and distressed t’shirt, is the one that I covet.
It’s that special time you spend in your own company, relaxing and resting that you get to know yourself. It’s where I can tap into hidden depths of tranquility and creativity. As you grow you realise just how important this “me” time really is…. and how exceptionally beautiful you can feel in just your favourite jumper is beyond any pair of high heels.

Inspiring Northern Rivers – HA’VELI

tribal. immersion
Houses in the Northern Rivers are so often adorned with beautiful  and unique furnishings and homewares from far-flung corners of the world. Maybe it’s because we are such a transient group of people, with a deep appreciation for tribal communities. Styling our homes in this way, and surrounding ourselves with inspiring pieces is certainly made more accessible by the incredible Ha’veli showroom.
Ha’veli stocks unique wooden furniture ‘with history’ from India, Morocco, Turkey and Burma, and stunning silver, ethnic, bohemian artisan pieces.
Visit Ha’veli in the Byron Bay Arts and Industrial Estate, or online.

“Seamstress of the band “
Elton John.
Lyrical words from the land of Hollywood royalty and the almost famous. We’ve been dreaming of this wonderland since the 60s. A promising adventure for Americans it is symbolic of the endless summer…sun, surf and babes. Prevalent in its free thinking culture, where the panoramic ocean views of Malibu resonate with a revered lifestyle and the real high rises are palm trees. Los Angeles is sprawling….and infinite. She is the city of Angels paid homage to by many a tune in her time.

creative. hotspot
Every Sunday in the Byron Shire, the markets converge upon one of our small towns or villages, bringing with them colour, creativity, music, laughter and fun.
Local artisans display their craft, from unique home-wares and decor to handmade children’s toys and let’s not forget the food! For many a local designer these markets have been an opportunity to help launch dreams and the loyal interest of its public is an ever-expanding and curious one. We are blessed to live in such a creatively rich part of the world.

sun. bleached

What is it about extreme colour de-saturation that compliments the tropics so well? Sun-bleached shades of white mimic the brightness of the finest sands, the freshness of tropical coconuts, the perfection of shells, and the happy intensity of the sunlight you squint at in the heat of the day.
Perfectly complimenting sun kissed tanned skin and sea-salted locks, all shades of white from bright to distressed are very much on our summer essentials list.
Bring on the sunshine.
